Badhangarhi
The place is located only 8 kms from Gwadam to which you can drive to the place Taal 4 Kms and another 4 kms can be achieved on foot. From the place Binatoli one has to go upstairs on the finishing point you find temples of Goddess – Bhagwati and Dakshin Kali. From where one can enjoy view of the surroundings whole of the Katyur valley and vast mountain ranges can be seen mainly Chokhamba, Hathi, Ghoda, Nanda Ghunti, Trishul, Nanda Devi, Kakot Bandar Poonch, Panchachuli, Nanda Kot, Nandakhat are the main. One can admire Almora, Kausnai, Roopkund, Vaidni Bugyal, Garud etc.
Baijnath
20 kms away from Gwadam it’s a series of temple which is 8-10 kms long. The temples were built during the Katyur Rajvansh era, construction of the temple ended during 12th or 13th century. This was the capital of Katyur Rajvansh and was knows as Kartikaypu.
Baijnath is located at the bank of Gomti, river here established a beautiful stone idol of Goddess Parvati, which is said to be the only Parvati idol in the world. Except this a lot of statutes have been kept in museum by the archeological department.
Agyari Mahadev
The place is situated 12 kms away from Gwaldam, to reach this place one has to take another way from Taal itself which is 8 kms trek from Taal.
This place is named as Agyari Mahadev, after the name of Angrishi who meditated in the same place. Lord Shiva’s Temple is located here where during spring season there is chaos or pilgrimage. River irrigating Katyur valley has it’s originating place at the same place.
Gwaldam Nag Temple
3 kms trek leads to Gwaldam Nag temple from Gwaldam. On the ridge top there are grassy ground which look like meadows. The temple is situated in the center of dense forest. Night view of the valley is mesmerizing. This top is good of hand gliding and in winter’s snow fall the sight is excellent for skiing.
Dhan Khark
It is situated only at 2 kms away from Gwaldam. Here the local people have their temporary huts and they come here to cultivate Potatoes, Chaulai etc. Beautiful slopes of Dhan Khark goes to Katyur valley form here one can reveal the beauty of this spot which attracts the foreign tourist towards it.
Dak Bungalow Parisar
(Lake) 100 mtrs away from Bus Station there is a lake with a nearby British time’s Bungalow. The place is perfect for photography and to sit around. Here you can find yourself in the lonely atmosphere surrounded by deodar trees, The place is now owned by the forest department. Snowfall during winters the beauty of this place multiplies.
Buddha Mandir and Baghtoli Garden
Owned by the Govt. of Uttarakhand, one and half kms away from Gwaldam Bus Station, stands a Buddhisht established temple in 1953s. The followers of Buddhism came here about four decades. It seems like one is in Ladakh and Dharmshala (H.P.).
Kot Bhramari Mandir
15 Kms from Gwaldam towards Kumaon is located famous goddess- Bhramari temple, which is believed the incarnation of Nanda Devi. It’s located on a hill of Katyur valley which was earlier treated as a fort for the Kings.
Machhi Taal
It is 9 kms away from Gwaldam, here state govt has a fish breeding center which was established in 1928’s during the British empire which was meant for fishing the Britishers. Later it became a production farm, mirror corp, rainbow golden fish are in the variety found there, beautiful fishes attract a lot of visitors, source of water is good for bathing and is excellent picnic spot specially to spend with family and children.
Kausani
At kausani the grandeur of the Himalayan scenery comes alive. The view of the snow-covered Trishul and Nanda Devi is so clear that one gets a feeling of the snows being within touching distance
Roopkund
Roopkund Lake is situated at an altitude of 5029 mts. in the interior of the Chamoli district, Roopkund is famous for the mysterious shallow lake of about 2 mts., with the edges covered with snow almost throughout the year.
Gwaldam Naveli Bugyal Trek
Navali Bagchi Bugyal is a Lengthy but narrow which is situated at an altitude of thousand meters. Its slopes are best suited for skiing. It acts as an epicenter from where one can see a largest part of Garhwal and Kumaon. It also gives a mesmerizing view of the Himalayas. This trek follows Dewal and reaches Jain visht village. One can come here with the help of transport but if the road is not blocked. To reach Navali one also can take the route from Ghes & Melkhet village. This trek can be finished in minimum four days
Gwaldam to Bhekaltal-Bhramtal
This trek is at normal height. This trek is suitable for school children, women, and child member. Here one has to board transport to reach Mandoli village (28 kms) and take there first night stay in Lohajung. Second trek moves from Lohajung to Bhramtal which is situated in the heart of dense forest. Third trek moves from Bhramtal to visit Bhekaltal and reachs Raat village and have night halt there. From here the trek moves down to Thrali and reaches Gwaldam. Otherwise can move from Dugri village visiting Jhaltal, Suptal, and reach to Ghat .From here trek reaches Nandpryag this trek is called village trek. Because this trek accomplished through many villages
Curzon Trek
In 1902’s lord Curzon trekked from Gwaldam to Tapovan, Joshimath through Kwaripass this trek is named as Curzon trek. From Gwaldam to village it is minimum eight days trek, after crossing twelve kms, trekkers reaches Knauli village. From Knauli village Sutol is at eleven kms distance. Than moves to Jhiji to Pana which is another destination. Walking through from Pana one can reach Dhakwani which is twenty kms. From here at a distance of five kms one can reach Kwaripass. From here splendid Nanda Devi can be seen. From Kwari one destination reaches to Auli and another reaches down to Tapovan from where one can trek down for twelve to thirteen days to reach Joshimath.
